Braunton Burrows is the second largest sand dune system in the UK and lies in the heart of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve North Devon Area (AONB). Dog Friendly Cottages North Devon
Located next to a dog-friendly beach all year round, our award-winning dog villas are a paradise for dogs and their owners. Each villa has a fully fenced garden, allowing your dog to run free (and sniff out the bunnies!). Our outdoor shower is perfect for washing off sandy feet and wellies after a walk on the beach or through the dunes (it’s also great for washing suits!).
Our beach villas offer stylish and comfortable accommodation for families, couples, groups of friends and their dogs. All villas are fully equipped for a relaxing beach holiday in Devon.
We provide sofas for furniture and blankets to protect upholstered furniture. If your four-legged friend likes to cuddle on the sofa or you think you need more, bring your extra blanket to cover all the furniture. The villas have hard floors that can be swept and mopped – no carpets here!
A dog crate with veterinary bedding is available on request, saving space in the car for everyone. Upon arrival, our canine guests will receive a complimentary dog crate including an exclusive Saunton Beach Villas dog tag to wear with pride! We do not charge per dog per night – the £40 dog fee covers all your dogs during your stay.

We also have tried and tested treats (by the office dogs!) from Kelso and Titch, including Doggy Popcorn, delicious sausages and crunchy biscuits! We’re also big fans of their lovely Paw and Nose Balm – perfect for giving your pooch some TLC after a walk on the beach!
All our villas are dog friendly, there is no dog limit, but if you are bringing 4 or more dogs we recommend booking the larger villas. For example, with 4 people and 5 dogs, you might be more comfortable in a 6-bed than a 4-bed. This is not a reservation requirement, we just want to offer it for your convenience!
We have a group of dogs, like an agility team, that stay with us most of the time because they can live together without worrying about the dogs’ limitations. We often hear from families who haven’t gone on holiday in years because they can’t find anywhere to keep all their dogs, and we’re delighted to be able to offer such a group a holiday together.

Dog Friendly Holidays
Yes, each villa has a fully enclosed garden – the fence is approximately 4ft high and ‘hit and miss’ style. Please let us know if you would like a fence height for a specific villa. In the garden you will find an outdoor shower perfect for washing off sandy feet and wellies after a walk on the beach or cooling off your dog on a hot day!
If you have a dog that would benefit from a quieter location on site, please contact us and we will be happy to advise you on which villa is best for you.
We do not allow our guests to leave their dogs in the villa if they need to go outside. Of course, treat the dog responsibly and do not leave your dog for long periods of time or if the villa is too hot. Also, be respectful of your neighbors and don’t leave your dog alone if you know it’s going to be noisy when you’re out.
Just returned from a 4 day break at 3 Dunes Villa in Santon Beach with my teenage children and our cava poodle Bea 🙂 It had everything we needed, the location was amazing and it was great to be able to open the back door to the enclosed garden. . We spent a lot of time on the beach and the food at the Beach Grill was delicious. tip – get Tesco delivered to your door!
North Devon Coast Cottages
If you have a dog, this is the place. Couldn’t fault a thing and would definitely return.
Great place to stay. The villa is clean and comfortable with everything you need for self catering. The beach was lovely and our dog enjoyed running on the beach and through the Boroughs. I regret leaving it and going home, but I would not hesitate to return for a longer stay in the future.
We love Saunton Sands beach, the chalet is the perfect place for an active holiday. You can always bring your furry friend with us as a bonus
We spent 3 nights at Saunton and absolutely loved it. The accommodation was clean and well equipped. You have to bring your own towel, but that’s what the information says. The location is great, close to the beach.

Loved our stay here, lots of dog walks. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The villa was nice and clean on arrival and the dog loved the treat box left by the staff. It lived up to all expectations from our friends who recommended Saunton Sands Villas to us. Our first stay here but we will definitely be back!!
Great place, we could sleep 8 and it was definitely big enough for all of us. Nice kitchen, clean, tidy, fresh linen (don’t forget to bring a towel), plenty of hot water and a nice bathroom. Well equipped
