The Guide To Virginia’s Dog Friendly Beaches
This 3.5-mile trail is not a typical hiking trail because it is located right in the heart of town. However, it is perfect for a quick walk, bike ride or skiing with the dog. Katy Trail Ice House is located along the trail where you can stop for a cold margarita and dinner in the large outdoor dining area. It’s my favorite dog restaurant in Dallas!
Let’s Roam is a fun (and affordable) way to see and learn more about Dallas. They offer 4 different guided tours ranging from 0.5 miles to 2 miles. Each tour can be easily tracked through their attractive app! They will give you interesting facts and turn the tour into an interactive game! It can be a great meet or competition against teams!

Although you won’t find amazing hiking in Dallas, Cedar Hill Nature Preserve is a great getaway. Located less than 20 minutes from downtown, you’ll find 600 acres and over 9 miles of trails. It’s a great place to look for butterflies, watch birds, or take a picnic after a hike. It is a non-profit organization and runs on donations!
The Best Dog Friendly Hotels In The U.s
After strolling the charming streets and shopping in downtown Grapevine, take your pup to the lake for a swim.
Grab your pup, rent a paddleboard with Backwoods Paddle Sports, and head out to the Trinity River. You’ll be right in the heart of Fort Worth and have views of the city all around you! After your rental, the staff will explain the different route options and your journey will begin.
They also rent kayaks (solo and tandem) and canoes, or you can bring your own to launch on Panther Island!

The Fort Worth Stockyards is definitely one of my favorite places in the DFW Metroplex. When you think of Texas, you automatically think of longhorns, cowboys, rodeos, and country music…and that’s exactly what the Stockyards offers. the
You and your dog can watch the daily cattle drive (at 11 and 4), window shop, people watch and eat a steak.
Price: Walking around the streets is free, but you will have to pay for parking and other activities.
Coyote Drive-in is open 7 days a week. Tickets can be purchased at the gate starting at 6pm ($8 for adults, $4 for children). They currently play one movie on each of the four screens. After choosing a movie, head to the Coyote Dining Room for all your movie snacks. See current offers here!
Crystal Beach Pet Friendly Activities
Choose between a wine tasting, a property tour, or a combination of both! There is also a 2.25 meter hiking/cycling trail that you can use for free. Hiking, touring and wine tasting with dogs?! Seems like a perfect day to me.

This was really the first stop that changed my mind about Texas. After driving miles and miles through flatlands, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find the second largest canyon in the United States. I highly recommend walking the lighthouse path here as you will be amazed by the natural rock formation! It’s a very easy hike and completely dog friendly!
Tip: Although I don’t recommend doing this trip in the summer due to the extreme heat, Texas can be hot all year round. Don’t forget to pack your daypack with a full water bladder!

A very unique and dog-friendly trail to add to your West Texas bucket list! Located in the Alps, this 1.8 mile hike takes you up the hill to an old school bench…I know…it’s weird…but it’s also unique. The track is located right next to the college, and years ago, a few college students carried a table, and it is now a fun endpoint to your journey! There is also a bike tree near the table.
In addition to the treetop bikes and the odd table, you can also enjoy stunning 360-degree views of the city. It’s a great quick hike you can take at sunrise or sunset!
Best Dog Friendly Campgrounds In The U.s
Although the neighboring national park doesn’t allow dogs, the state park is absolutely stunning! (I say it’s better because you can enjoy it with your dog!) There are three dog-friendly walks along the way and plenty of stunning views to stop by.
Located just outside of Big Bend Ranch State Park, you’ll find the remains of an old mining town. You can tour the cemetery, visit the old prison, and see other ruins. After the guided tour, there is a gift shop and several restaurants.
While there are many unique stays near Terlingua to choose from, I highly recommend staying at Ocotillos Village. These comfortable tents allow you to enjoy the best stargazing through the glass roofs!
If you spend any time on Instagram, you’ve probably seen this unique roadside attraction. Although there isn’t much to do here, it’s a great photo opportunity!
Dog Friendly Weekend Getaways In Texas — Houston Portrait Studio
Did you know that there are sand dunes in Texas?! It’s pretty hidden, but makes a great stop on the way to Big Bend. Rent a sled from the gift shop and spend the day riding the dunes!
Located in the heart of downtown Austin, you and your pup can explore a variety of themed parks. The gardens are open from 9am to 6pm, but you must book your ticket online in advance.
Just 13 miles from the state capital, you and your dog can swim, hike and/or camp at one of 81 campsites.
The Barton Creek Farmers Market is held every Sunday from 10-2, and is a great place to check out all the local food and arts vendors! Leashed dogs are welcome.

Hike to the highest point in Austin for beautiful views of the Colorado River, Austin, and the Texas Hill Country. Although Mount Bonnell sits 775 feet above the city, it’s a quick 0.5-mile hike. It’s a great place for a picnic or to watch the sunset.
You and your pup can join a haunted tour in Austin. During the ghost tour, you will walk around town and listen to ghost stories for approximately 90 minutes. Austin Walking Tours also offers a morning tour, killer walk, and private tours!
Who doesn’t love a fun themed mini golf course? And it’s dog friendly, which makes it 100 times better! You can also bring your own cooler with snacks/lunch and drinks!
