Best Dog Friendly Hikes Yosemite – Although many associate Yosemite National Park with its towering waterfalls and massive granite cliffs, this iconic park also offers a welcoming environment for our four-legged friends. Today I had the pleasure of working with Visit Yosemite | Madera County as we explore Yosemite’s dog-friendly side and highlight the best places to enjoy nature with your beloved companion. From scenic trails to pet-friendly accommodations, we’re launching an adventure that celebrates Yosemite’s natural beauty and the joy of exploring it with our furry friends.
By now you probably know that Yosemite is my sweet spot, and while Nate and I are here on big back country trips, our sweet dog Thumper lives with Grandma (and loves to get spoiled).. .is planning special trips with Thumper and we would enjoy one of our favorite places.
Best Dog Friendly Hikes Yosemite
So where are pets allowed in the park? First, service dogs are legally allowed wherever visitors go. . They are also allowed at most campgrounds except for camping and club camping.
The Best Dog Friendly Hikes In San Mateo County
Allowed on Wawona Meadow Loop). Our furries are also not allowed on unpaved snowy roads, as well as undeveloped and desert areas. In addition, there are unlimited public buildings, buses and hotels in the park. It is prohibited to transport pets (in harnesses, carriers, strollers, bags, etc.) in parks where pets are not allowed. Lower Yosemite Falls Trail: This is an easy, 1-mile, dog- and family-friendly trail that leads to a close-up view of the last 320-foot waterfall in northern America.
Sentinel & Cook Meadow Loop: This easy 2.25 mile loop offers great views of Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, Glacier Point and Sentinel Rock along a paved trail and trail.
Bridalveil Fall Trail: A paved trail leads from the parking lot to a spectacular viewing platform near the center of the fall in less than 1/2 mile.
Best Dog Friendly Hikes In San Diego (easy Hikes)
Mirror Lake Trail: A 2-mile round trip, this mostly shaded trail follows Tenaya Creek on a paved service road to the end of Mirror Lake (a spring lake that turns into a meadow during of the dry summer months). Glacier Point: Dogs can enjoy a short hike from the parking lot to some of the most spectacular views in Yosemite. Enjoy spectacular views of iconic features like Yosemite Falls and Half Dome as you and your child soar more than 3,000 feet above the valley floor.
Tunnel View: Although there are no trails in this area, it is still a great place to see the sunrise or sunset in this ancient Yosemite area.
Wawona Meadow Loop: Starting at the Wawona Inn, this 3.5-mile loop is shorter than most Yosemite Valley trails and is mostly well-shaded, making it a great hike. and summer fun.

Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias: A winding trail along Old Flat Oak Road through Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias to Hodgdon Meadows Campground is dog-friendly, off-paved.
Leashed dogs are also allowed on the Cowchilla Mountain Road, Four Mile and Eleven Mile fire roads (but not the Four Mile Trail in Yosemite Valley).
