It makes sense that the cost of pet insurance varies by breed and age. But why is there such a price among American cities? A healthy, 2-year-old golden retriever with insurance in Albuquerque, New Mexico would cost about $22.83/month, while the same dog in New York City would cost $62.35/month.

The main reason pet insurance costs vary between cities is because of different pet costs and the cost of living in cities. As the cost of living increases, the cost of renting or renting veterinary clinic space increases, hiring veterinary staff, equipment costs, and other related costs. It makes sense, but the cost of owning a dog in most major cities in the US has skyrocketed, and potential owners have to be charged extra for the lifetime of their pet.
