We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms recommended for large dogs even with Roscoe it was very comfortable and the bathrooms are down the hall (although at least they are private). The inn’s quirky character may not be for everyone, but it’s in a great location within walking distance of the city center. The owner is very friendly and will be happy to provide suggestions for pet-friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.

Located between the towns of Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort not only allows dogs, they put dogs first. Their pet policy states that canine companions are welcome in the resort’s four luxurious king cabins and guest house selections with homemade biscuits, dog beds and bowls. With simple but clean rooms, this is one of Sto’s more affordable hotel options. Playing a board game in the large lounge booth, reading a good book by the large sunken fireplace, or stargazing by the roaring outdoor fire pit.
