Where To Visit On The East Coast – One (of many) things I love about the United States is how different it is from one state to another. It’s one of those countries where you can hop between states and places to see a completely different side of the country, which is actually a pretty awesome experience (did someone say travel?).
I’ve traveled a lot around the United States over the years and relished any opportunity to just hop in the car (or train if you’re driving your own route) and explore its vast expanses.

Honestly, one of the main things I still love about the East Coast is the seafood. I don’t think I’ve ever come across such a delicious quantity at quite reasonable prices. The East Coast did it for me!

The entire coast has a very rich history, charming chocolate box villages to explore and scenic beauty that always looks different depending on the season you visit.

Some are right on the coast, others are a few hours away. Anyway, they’re all in the east, hence they’re all “East Coast”, especially considering how big the country is.

After our recent 5-day trip, I’m already eager to get back to the area and explore more. Many people now seem to view Fort Lauderdale as an “offshoot” of Miami.
I assure you, it is not so. It has a completely different atmosphere and identity, which is very surprising if you want to enjoy a mixture of relaxation, culture and many beautiful natural attractions.

You can’t even talk about the East Coast without mentioning New York, right? This charming city may seem overwhelming at first, but spend a few days here and we guarantee you’ll fall in love with its energy and atmosphere.

The city also has some of the best museums in the country, including the National Museum of American History, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, the National Gallery of Art, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and even the unusual International Spy Museum!
Oh, and don’t forget to spend an afternoon at Eastern Market exploring the city by bike and admiring Busbois and Poets (who also have the BEST coconut tofu bites and waffles).
Filled with some of the best restaurants, art deco architecture and vibrant nightlife, Miami is the place to be!
Spend some time in Little Havana, enjoy Cuban cuisine at Versailles Restaurant, experience nature at its best in Everglades National Park, shop on Lincoln Road and end the night with salsa dancing at one of the many clubs you’ll hit into the wee hours since morning!

The Old Port with its beautiful 19th century buildings, cobbled streets, craft shops, bookshops and brick pavements almost makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time – it’s so traditional it’s worth a visit.
If you’re more into art, the Portland Museum of Art is worth a visit, with its renowned exhibitions and impressive permanent collections.
Of course, don’t miss the famous Portland Head Light, which was built in 1791 and is the oldest lighthouse still in use in the United States. You can even go on a cruise or whale watching.
In my opinion, the East Coast has some of the best local lobster I have ever tasted! For a bite, head to Eventide Oyster for delicious local seafood. I swear you’ll love it.

The White Mountains are a dream place for nature lovers! I promise if you’re looking for a slice of East Coast charm (away from the big cities) you’ll love this area.
There is a whole community of companies and people who really embrace this beautiful landscape – things like horseback riding, elk safaris, tubing on the Saco River (which is absolutely beautiful), and kayaking.
IF you’re looking for a bigger challenge, there are plenty of pretty challenging climbs (I’m calling you Mount Washington) to work up a sweat and earn your lunch!
Boston is a must-visit city, not only because of its central role in the history of the United States, but also because it has so much more to offer.

If you’re visiting the city for the first time, visit historic landmarks like Plymouth Rock, walk the Freedom Trail, explore Beacon Hill, head to the Charles River Esplanade, or just relax in the Boston Public Garden or the stunningly beautiful Eikelstraat.
From here you can also reach Harvard, one of the most famous schools in the United States. The whole area is full of small cafes, shops and historic red brick houses.
Oh, and if you want to get a taste of the city, enjoy a Boston Cream Pie while you’re here.
