Not many caravan parks near Sydney allow pets, so it’s no surprise that there aren’t many pet-friendly cabins near Sydney. Check out these options available within two hours of Sydney.
It’s just a two-hour drive south of Sydney to Gerringong, just south of Kiama. Werri Beach Holiday Park is a great dog-friendly caravan park. Not only is the caravan park pet-friendly, there are three two-bedroom cabins that are pet-friendly.

One of the best benefits of staying at Werri Beach Holiday Park with your dog is that you are right in front of Werri Beach, which has an off-leash area. Nearby is a fun adventure park and dog-friendly Kiama Coastal Walk.
Two holiday parks on the Kiama Coast, run by the Kiama community, have recently started allowing pets in some of their cabins. Surf Beach Holiday Park allows pets in individual 2-bedroom cottages for an additional fee of $25 per night.
The park is only a short drive from the center of Kiama and the famous Blowhole. Note, however, that dogs are not allowed on the sand on the nearby beach, although there is an off-leash dog-walking area near Kaleula Nature Reserve.

If you prefer to head north of Sydney, a great dog-friendly caravan park between the Central Coast and Newcastle is Blacksmiths Beachside Holiday Park. I’ve stayed at a campground in the park before, but it also has two dog-friendly cabins.
Both pet cabins have doggie doors leading to the enclosed porch, as well as a dog bed and water bowl. It’s best to call ahead to check the rules before booking, as some species are limited. However, there are no peak period restrictions.
The park is a short walk from the patrolled Blacksmiths Beach and a short walk (or long walk) from the dog beach on the north shore of the town. There is a dog wash on the premises.

Heading north, Diamond Waters Caravan Park is 40 minutes south of Port Macquarie, on the Camden Haven River near Laurieton. It’s a beautiful place surrounded by prairies and welcomes dogs all year round, although there are no cats to protect the local wildlife.

A very popular caravan park with pet owners is Reflections Holiday Parks Moonee Beach, north of Coffs Harbour. Dogs are allowed all year round at this caravan park, both on pitches and in individual cabins.
