Pet-friendly resorts are a lot of fun to be apart of because of the perks that come with it. In some cases, there are packages that give you more.
Marquette Pet Friendly Hotels
When you bring your dog to a resort, they often offer something special for your pet as well. This can be a huge advantage if you don’t want to deal with pet-friendly places to eat, things to do, etc.
It’s also a great way to introduce yourself and your dog to pet-friendly travel, as you’ll be staying at a dog-friendly resort that will let you know where and when to take your dog. can.
One of the downsides to pet-friendly resorts is that they tend to be expensive. You might think the cost is up to you, but in some cases, pet packages for dogs can be worth it in popular destinations like Mackinac Island, where you’ll be paying a fortune for a hotel anyway. .
Unless you’re camping (where dogs are welcome at no extra charge), you’ll pay the hotel’s standard pet fee, usually the daily rate.

For example, the pet fee at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island is $100.00 per pet. If I stayed there 4 nights it would be $25 a day. At Quality Inn Island, their pet fee is $25 per day for low grooming and amenities. No offense intended, just using you to make my point. See what I’m saying?
Another way to save on resort stays is during the off-season or when they are offering some promotional packages.
If you don’t want to burn a hole in your wallet, for the love of your dog, don’t go to Mackinac Island or Traverse City in June or July.

Mission Point Resort is one of the pet-friendly resorts on the island. Dogs are not only allowed but welcomed with open arms. They have a dog on site, border collie Nick, who you can follow on Instagram @closepoint.
Currently their pet fee is $100 per stay. They also offer a pet-friendly package called Pooch on Point, which includes two nights’ accommodation, pet fee, breakfast, ferry ticket and welcome for your dog.
The lodge is near Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and offers a variety of accommodations.
What’s really cool about Homestead is that their pet Facebook is included in the price after booking. Pet friendly rooms are a bit difficult to reserve so I would call to make a reservation.
Traverse City Resorts
Pet-friendly rooms are available at Fiddler’s Pond Inn. They have limited quantity so you need to reserve it in advance.
When you’re a guest in the house, you get exclusive amenities like pools, hot tubs, kayak and canoe rentals, discounts on golf courses, priority spa reservations, and more. See all the benefits here

Another popular ski resort, Boyne Mountain Resort is located south of Petoskey. Last fall we went without Kirby and enjoyed the heated pool and chairlift ride. We also played golf on the Alpine course, which was fantastic. They have another course, Monument, which is said to be more challenging.

They are probably the least flexible when it comes to pet friendships. They have pet-friendly rooms that can only be reserved by phone. Their pet fee is $25 for the first night and $10 for subsequent nights, up to a maximum of $150.
It may not be the most popular on this list, but Portage Point Resort has been around since 1903. It has an interesting history, as it was part of the Michigan State Legislature in 1897 after the decline of the lumber industry.
Traverse City Beachfront Hotels
The resort consists of several hotels and cabins on Portage Lake with access to Lake Michigan. It is undergoing a period of renovation and change, but is still open for bookings.
