A dog’s lifespan can vary greatly depending on size and breed, says veterinarian Dr. Jamie Lovejoy, in a January 2023 article for PetMD. “There are other reasons that we don’t understand very well yet,” he said.
The United States Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) advises that arranging to transport your pet to another country can be a “difficult and time-consuming” process.
Why You Should Always Take Your Dogs On Vacation Breaks Hearts—’i’m Crying’
Your destination country sets requirements for pets entering the country. These “may change at any time,” APHIS warns, so “you should check national requirements whenever you plan to travel with your pet.”
Many countries require pets to be accompanied by a health certificate. It is called an International Health Certificate, Veterinary Health Certificate, Veterinary Certificate or Export Certificate.
APHIS notes that “airlines and cruise lines establish their own policies for the transportation of pets in addition to federal, state, and local government requirements.”
Heckert said Dino and Ruby have so far visited 14 countries, including Cyprus, where Ruby was rescued.
How Often Should You Stop On A Road Trip With A Dog?
“They always enjoy a beach holiday as much as a mountain destination like Croatia, Switzerland or Austria,” added Heckert.
In the latest viral video, Dino and Ruby are shown in various outdoor scenes, from playing on a sandy beach, to interacting with other animals while near a waterfall in the ocean and on Kabbal Road.

Even if your dog sleeps on the porch. Even if your dog is trained to come back when called. There are so many new things to touch and see that it can tempt a curious dog to run away.
Make sure your dog tag is always active and that your phone number is active. Clipping is fun, but it won’t help beachgoers find you unless you take your dog to the shelter or vet for a checkup.

Check the local group for your destination. For example, Tybee Beach has a group: Lost & Found Tybee and a group for local lifeguards. If you wait until you lose your dog, these groups will waste time seeking help.
